Cahya gets a job as a maid working in an isolated old mansion. Pregnant and a recent widow, she is desperate to reconnect with her husband, opening a doorway to the spirit world. And in doing so, inadvertently awakens the tormented ghosts of her current employer, the previous maids.。The comedy plot unfolds around two totally different families: the Drahomanov working in culture and the Nalyvaychenko who are local businessmen. On a spring weekend they decide to go for a traditional open-air barbecue and by virtue of destiny arrive at the same clearing each family considers theirs. A quarrel starts between them, quickly transforming into a grotesque war for ...。少年棒球队国手出身的布店老板阿隆（侯孝贤饰），他和阿贞是青梅竹马。阿贞（蔡琴饰）是某企业的高级助理员工，她总是期想着能够尽快结婚移民美国，改变目前的生活处境，向往着美好未来。阿隆乐于帮助别人，像开出租车的少棒朋友阿钦（吴念真饰）等等。他有着浓郁的怀旧情结，常去棒球场边观看。 面对周围激烈变化的社会，阿隆和阿贞交往的是不同人群，彼此不可避免地渐有远离，感情出现了裂缝。后来，阿隆被爱慕阿贞的一个年轻人刺伤，独自坐在路边等待。逐渐昏迷中，他仿佛重新看见了参加少棒比赛的记忆画面。。
