Ok, folks, this is my last Ishii upload. Totsugeki! Hakata gurentai is his first feature and last 8mm film. Haven't watched it yet myself, but from the looks of it, this is very much reminescent of eighties and nineties v-cinema, sort of like early Miike (only made in 1978). There is considerably more dialogue than in his earlier films, but it doesn't seem too complicated plotw...。Jean de La Fontaine once said, Rare is true love, true friendship is rarer. The film is a love story about extremely close best friends TJ and Amanda, Fuffy (Pascual) and Fream (de Rossi). The two only meet when it's a must but when they do, they go through several misadventures that lead them to reevaluate their lives and discover the special meaning they hold for each other.。
